AshleyspaceA founding partner of his own law firm, George Ellison is Of Counsel with Foran Glennon Palandech & Ponzi, concentrating his practice in the areas of loss recovery/subrogation, corporate litigation, products liability, construction litigation, casualty litigation, and first-party property insurance coverage litigation.

In addition to his extensive domestic and international litigation experience, Mr. Ellison has been involved in numerous high-profile lawsuits, including serving as co-counsel to the Cook County Commission investigating the 69 W. Washington Building Fire (commonly known as the “Mikva Commission”), a nationally recognized commission entrusted to investigate the 6 deaths that resulted from the 2003 Chicago Loop Fire.

Mr. Ellison was also coverage counsel for the insurer of the E2 nightclub in Chicago. The Epitome Restaurant’s upstairs dance floor E2, was a popular nightclub in Chicago until a stampede in the early morning hours of February 17, 2003 killed 21 people and injured more than 50.

Mr. Ellison has won multi-million dollar jury verdicts in four different states and regularly presents at industry conferences.

Education
Mr. Ellison earned his B.A. degree in Political Science from Northern Illinois University in 1976 and his J.D. degree from John Marshall Law School in 1981.

Bar Admissions
Mr. Ellison is authorized to practice law in Illinois and in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois, and the Northern District of Indiana. He has represented clients in matters pending in state and federal courts all over the United States. Mr. Ellison has also litigated in Germany.

Professional Associations

Mr. Ellison is a member of the Chicago and Illinois bar associations and is a member of the National Association of Subrogation Professionals. He was formerly a Hearing Officer for the Chicago Bar Association Judicial Evaluation Committee.
